Trees sometimes grow together in a process called inosculation. This concept inspired this interpretation of several trees growing together in the shape of Cerberus, the mythical three headed dog.

I used to drive past a half dead tree every day on the highway and could not help but see a rearing dragon in the structure of the truck and bark and living wings in the branching leaves that sprung out of the back of it. Sadly, this tree is now gone, but it inspired this rendition of another tree in the shape of a griffin.
